The purpose of the charity is most and foremost about fighting against poverty in all its ways, shapes or forms within any given community of any background, with no disticntion of race, age or culture.
We have chosen to start our work first in the Congo, situated in Central Africa. After visiting few towns and villages, we were overwhelmed by the present human crisis caused by poverty and wars aftermaths. We have been appalled by what we heard and saw when travalling there, where we have encountered the worst kind of human depravation.
A recent statistic states that in the Eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo 12 women are raped every minute from a very young age. Having said that, both young and elderly women, if they are not killed after these horrors they will have to live with their ordeals, and sometimes they would even be rejected by their own ommunity like quarantained women who will never get married, with crushed dreams and bearing their humiliation and depreciation for the rest of their lives.
It is heart-breaking and we could not just sit and turn a blind eye pretending nothing is happening, first as christians and secondly as originators of the same country. The heaviness in our hearts have prompted real actions from our part and after much consideration and prayers we have come together with the decision to start somehow raising awareness everywhere and call on international help on behalf of a population which is lacking even the basic necessities.
The charity will also be involved locally as in our fight for poverty we should also operate where we live, within our community, helping the minority, elderly and whomever in need for help like single mothers, and homeless, though targeting mostly women we are not excluding anyone as we should target any area of depravation.
